Financial Fun Night at N.C. A&T: Game On! Miss North Carolina 2018 Gives Opening Remarks

ALEXANDRIA, VA. – APRIL 11, 2019 – A financial fun game night is coming to North Carolina A&T State University (N.C. A&T) April 17th in Merrick Hall involving prizes and surprises. The Society for Financial Education and Professional Development, Inc. (SFE&PD) kicks off a “Financial Game Night” at 6 p.m. in Deese Auditorium featuring Miss North Carolina 2018 Laura Matrazzo as a speaker.

“We are pleased to team up with N.C. A&T’s College of Business and Economics to sponsor a financial literacy game night for students during April’s Financial Literacy Month,” said Theodore “Ted” Daniels, SFE&PD’s Founder and President. “We are delighted Laura Matrazzo, Miss North Carolina 2018, will join us for this important learning event.”

A financial literacy advocate, Matrazzo established a social impact initiative designed to teach middle school through college-age students about money management and budgeting. “Financial literacy is a life skill,” Matrazzo said. “I am honored to join SFE&PD and N.C. A&T to help give young people in North Carolina the financial tools they need to not only to survive but truly live successfully.”

For more than 20 years, SFE&PD has taught innovative financial literacy training workshops for tens of thousands of individuals and college students with a focus on underserved communities. SFE&PD’s Student Ambassadors, college students teaching their peers about financial education, will assist with the financial game night. The SFE&PD Student Ambassador Program is supported by Wells Fargo Hands on Banking® and the event is open to the campus community.
